PATTERN SHOP LEVEL I
- Able to work with a variety of hand tools
- Willingness and ability to learn to operate manual machines
- Strong math aptitude including geometry and Trigonometry
- Can use simple hand tools such as a ruler, compass, and protractor
- Can follow simple directions and plans with minimal supervision
- Exhibit a real desire to learn a skill/trade not just earn a paycheck
- Must be dependable, and a team player
- Excellent work habits
PATTERN SHOP LEVEL II
- Able to understand blueprints
- Works independently
- Demonstrate an ability to use precision measuring tools
- Can do simple pattern work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate an ability to operate all manual machines in the shop safely
- Has an understanding of the controls on the CNC, and can set-up parts, and run programs
- Can do simple conversational programming
PATTERN SHOP LEVEL III
- Can plan and design complex patterns/tooling/fixtures
- Demonstrates an ability to work from a blueprint to create a CAD model
- Can write complex CNC programming
- Exhibits a high degree of accuracy , and can verify that tooling, castings, and parts meet all specifications
